Handmade In Aotea
All Aotea products are handmade on Aotea (Great Barrier Island) New Zealand using native flora grown, harvested, extracted, and bottled by our team. Our ingredients are predominantly natural, with a focus on organic sources whenever feasible. While we prioritize organic ingredients, it's essential to acknowledge that not all can be certified organic due to being wild-harvested, reflecting the unique nature of our island-based production process.

The perfect balance between incredible versatility and technical care.
An emollient used to treat irritations of the skin associated with; dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, bites, burns and nappy rash.
Kawakawa: Ultra hydrating and rich in bioactives that help target inflammation and stimulate skin cell repair.
Mānuka oil: Scientifically proven to be 1000x more powerful than Mānuka Honey and 30x more powerful than Tea Tree Oil. One of the most potent skin restorers available. It helps to reduce fine lines and dark spots whilst supporting collagen production.
Beeswax: Promotes skin regeneration, creates a protective barrier locking in hydration, and works against environmental pollutants.
Lips: Our balm works to strengthen the skin while restoring hydration and providing intense nourishment as it calms and restores balance upon application.
Skincare and Acne: The most abundant compound found in Kawakawa is pellitorine. Pellitorine has a key role in aiding the chemical pathways in the body that reduce inflammation. Kawakawa is perfect to help balance your skin from red, chapped, itchy to hydrated and glowing. Molecules known as lignans, act as powerful antioxidants to boost healthy skin cell growth and repair damaged skin cells. Mānuka oil can help with acne-prone skin as it contains both anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, to clean and heal affected areas.
Eczema and Dermatitis: Kawakawa contains myristicin, an active compound that stimulates human cells to release nitric oxide to help fight inflammation. A wonder for the skin, Kawakawa’s high concentration of Linoleic acid also aids in promoting collagen production and improving the skin's elasticity. Combined with our barrier-supporting mānuka oil and beeswax our balm is proven to aid in the relief of Eczema and Dermatitis. Mānuka oil contains the very anti-bacterial set of triketone plant actives that are proven to kill microbes and bacteria on the skin, reducing flare ups like eczema and psoriasis.
Psoriasis and Rheumatism: Kawakawa contains an incredible bio-active called Diayangambin. Diayangambin has been proven in vitro and in vivo to exert immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory effects. This means in some cases it can help in the treatment of autoimmune disorders. Two common autoimmune disorders that Kawakawa has been proven to treat in some cases are types of rheumatism and psoriasis.
Directions
Apply Kawakawa Balm 2-3 times a day to irritated skin and then daily as the skin begins to heal. For dry/chapped skin and lips, apply a pea-sized amount as needed throughout the day.
Ingredients
Kawakawa
Kawakawa is revered among Māori as being super healing and restorative. We pick the Kawakawa leaves from our land on Aotea. Our Kawakawa extract is 100% natural and made by steeping the leaves for one week in sweet almond oil.

Mānuka
Like our other inputs, our Mānuka oil is extracted onsite at our farm. The oil is used extensively in our range exhibiting anti-microbial and healing qualities. We also use Mānuka hydrosol which is a by-product of our distillation process that closes pores in the skin and is incredibly restorative.
